Launch of skyshare for small businesses

The Ricoh Arena and Coventry City are pioneering a new way of selling corporate sporting packages.

The two organisations have been working closer together to enable the football club to take a greater slice of match-day revenue following Ray Ranson’s appointment as chairman.

The result is a scheme called skyshare which enables small companies and young professionals the chance to entertain potential and existing clients in their own hospitality box while watching Chris Coleman’s team in action in the Championship.

Daniel Gidney, chief executive of the Ricoh Arena, said this scheme made corporate hospitality affordable to a greater number of businesses in the region.

“The Ricoh Arena and Coventry City are delighted to launch an innovative scheme which will give more small businesses and young professionals in Coventry and Warwickshire the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of corporate hospitality,” he said.

“skyshare enables a box to be owned by an exclusive group of just five owners. Feedback has told us that often if a small business has bought a box for the first time that 23 league games for the entire season is a major commitment.

“Having four games spread throughout the season gives each owner the chance to plan their hospitality without compromising on the value and effectiveness of their entertaining.

“From a business perspective, this is not just about supporting the Sky Blues but also about providing real value to their small business or professional practice.

“We appreciate that entertaining clients or rewarding staff needs to be justified in terms of a budgeted return on their investment which is why we have put together an extremely good package for £3,000.

“It means that for the first time an executive box becomes affordable and within reach to a whole new range of businesses because broken down it means it will cost just £62.50 per person.”

The package includes four matches (with one guaranteed A class match) with exclusive access to a pitch-view executive suite that contains 12 reserved luxury padded seats directly in front of the suite along with a sumptuous two-course meal and VIP parking (three spaces per suite).

skyshare also features complimentary match day programmes, half-time tea/coffee, a large screen TV and for one of the Saturday games there is the free use of the executive box as a private hotel room for the night for two guests (subject to availability).
