Coventry fans will See a difference in ticket convenience

A 24-hour hotline has been set up for Coventry City supporters to buy match tickets.

See Tickets won a four-way tender to become the joint telephone box office provider for the Sky Blues and the Ricoh Arena.

The Nottingham-based company, which last year sold nine million tickets for concerts, theatre shows, sporting events and consumer exhibitions industries, already provides the ticketing systems at Premier League West Ham United, Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City as well as Championship clubs Derby County and Preston North End.

Rob Wilmshurst, Chief Operating Officer at See Tickets, said Coventry City supporters would be able to buy tickets whatever the time of day.

“We pride ourselves on providing a 24-7 operation to our clients and this was a service the club and the Ricoh Arena were keen to establish,” he said.

“Our 400 staff are committed to giving a quality service to Coventry City supporters and Ricoh Arena visitors.

“See Tickets will improve the ticketing operation at Coventry City because we are a large operation that provides an efficient and cost effective customer service.

“There is no booking fee to buy Coventry City match tickets which hasn’t been the case in the past and we are confident this new telephone booking system will be a success.”

Daniel Gidney, Chief Executive of the Ricoh Arena, said this would improve accessibility for supporters to buy match tickets as well as music fans attending concerts.

“We are continually looking at ways in which fans can buy tickets quickly and with the minimum of fuss,” he said.

“See Tickets impressed us immensely and the fact they sold 137,500 for last year’s Glastonbury in one hour 45 minutes highlights their efficiency and expertise and will prove to be a huge benefit when we are selling tickets for gigs at the Ricoh.

“The launch of this 24-hour service and the opening of two ticket outlets in Coventry city centre to complement the ticket office at the Ricoh Arena and the opportunity to buy tickets online means it has never been easier to watch the Sky Blues in action.

“If it is not convenient to come to the Ricoh or head into the city centre or you don’t have access to a computer then the new ticket hotline will resolve any problems of obtaining tickets.

“Calls will be answered promptly and efficiently at See Tickets’ state-of-the-art centre and tickets immediately despatched whether it is for a Sky Blues match or a concert.”

From Monday (October 27), the 24-hour ticket hotline is available on 0844 412 4634 which has replaced the old Coventry City number of 0844 873 1987. There remains a small handling charge for posting each transaction.
