40th Anniversary of Hire Shows in 2013
Plans are already in place to celebrate the 40th anniversary of hire shows in 2013 following the success of this year's leading event at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry

Executive Hire Show 2012 attracted 132 exhibiting companies ranging from independent suppliers to multi-national organisations to promote their new and innovative products.
The two-day showcase, which is the highlight of the hire industry’s calendar, enticed 1,752 relevant hire visitors.
Talks have begun with the events team at the Ricoh Arena to further expand next year’s show in its 40th year.
Ali Rogers, event manager at the Executive Hire Show, said the dates for 2013 had already been set for Wednesday, February 6 and Thursday, February 7 due to the favourable comments from exhibitors, suppliers and visitors to this year’s event.
“We have been coming to the Ricoh Arena for the last six years and this is now the established home of hire,” she said.
“We expanded the show this year by taking a further 600m of space in the E.ON Lounge since the 6,000 sqm Jaguar Exhibition Hall was fully booked by the end of September.
“Our research showed 90 per cent of visitors went along to the new top tier which we were extremely pleased with.
“The feedback from exhibitors is that customers placed plenty of new orders with them, it was a great chance to meet up with all their suppliers in a short period of time and there was steady footfall throughout the two days.
“The fact the Ricoh is growing its exhibition facilities means we can grow with them in 2013 and we are currently in discussions regarding extra space for us to use.
“This is established as the location for our industry’s national event and everybody knows where it is.
Chris Owen, event manager at the Ricoh Arena, said members of the hire industry as well as their suppliers had travelled from Scotland, Ireland and Guernsey as well as further afield to attend the show.
“This is a perfect way to bring the buyers and sellers together from the hire industry for two days and it is a show which expands each year,” he said.
“We continue to work alongside the organisers to make sure all their expectations are met and we are already looking forward to Executive Hire Show 2013 which everyone is determined to make sure is the best yet as they celebrate 40 years of hire shows.”
