ACL Director wins top award!
A SENIOR management figure at the Ricoh Arena and Coventry City has won a top international award in Barcelona.
Jacky Isaac was crowned Team Player of the Year at the Stadium Business Awards 2011 at a gala dinner at Camp Nou.
The Stadium Business Awards were created to showcase innovation, professionalism and best practice within the stadium industry.
Jacky, who is human resources and operations director at the multi-purpose Ricoh Arena and human resources director at Coventry City, was chosen by an independent panel of industry experts.
Her responsibilities include handling human resources and staffing issues for the Ricoh and Coventry City and establishing new policies in line with current legislation as well as running the joint venture agreement with the Compass Group which is a £10 million a year business.
“I was surprised to be shortlisted and even more amazed to win,” Jacky said.
“Working for the Ricoh and the Sky Blues is extremely varied and that is one of the reasons why I love it.
“One minute I can be working on behind-the-scenes preparations for a football match and the next involved in the logistics of hosting a conference for over 3,000 delegates.
“It is challenging and hard work but extremely rewarding and every day is different.”
Ricoh Area chief executive Daniel Gidney added: “Jacky thoroughly deserves to have won this award because she is an integral part of our management team.
“Like all team players, people truly notice when she is not around – which is not very often.
“Being a HR director is never easy, but despite having to oversee so many people in so many different roles, Jacky’s feet are always on the ground and she is one of the most popular members of the team at the Ricoh.”
Daniel was shortlisted in the Executive of the Year category at the 2011 awards, events manager Justine Hewitt was nominated for Rising Star and the venue’s new conferencing and hotel facilities were among the schemes in the Project of the Year section.
