Comedian Craig Campbell heading to the Ricoh Arena

The wild man of Canadian comedy will be providing the entertainment at the Ricoh Arena after extra dates were announced to his nationwide tour.

Craig Campbell will be on stage at the Mercia Live Level on Wednesday, November 2 at 8pm.

Tickets, priced at £12 per person, went on sale today (May 20) from www.ricoharena.com or by ringing 0871 620 4028.

Described by some critics as the Canadian Billy Connolly, Craig supported Frankie Boyle on his record-breaking 120-date national tour last year when he told jokes to over 300,000 people.

Craig has also appeared on television after being part of the second series of Michael McIntyre’s hugely popular Comedy Roadshow on BBC1 and Leamington-based Russell Howard’s Good News on BBC3.

He is also taking his show to the Edinburgh Festival after his first solo show at the fringe festival sold out for the second half of its run.

Justine Hewitt, events manager at the Ricoh Arena, said the Mercia Live Level was a natural venue with its intimate atmosphere for comedians.

“Craig’s tour across the country this spring has been really popular which is why extra dates have been announced,” she said.

“He has a great ability to find humour in mundane matters and along with his own eccentric character and his ability to tell funny stories, it is no surprise that Craig has been a big hit.

“But despite his easy-going attitude that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t tell some near-the-knuckle jokes which have led to his fan base growing year by year.

“Craig has great charisma and I’m sure he will entertain every single person in the audience.”

Before arriving on these shores, Craig hosted Ed’s Night Party along with appearing on other Canadian television shows including Jim Carrey Live and since moving to the UK he has also presented Sky One’s hit series From Wimps to Warriors and recorded ITV2’s Comedy Cuts.
