The Flagship Event of a leading organisation for the events and exhibition industry is returning to the Ricoh Arena.

ESSA

ESSA, the Event Supplier and Services Association, is the trade association representing contractors and suppliers of goods and services to the events and exhibition industry.

Around 100 managing directors and chief executives from the industry’s leading companies are expected to attend the ESSA G50+Conference on Thursday, November 22.

They will meet in inter-active sessions to discuss a wide range of issues including disaster planning, changes in the venue landscape, the international marketplace, and ISOs and standards as well as having a look at future trends and associated risks. The day will close with time for networking and a little fun in the G Casino.

ESSA Director Chris Skeith described the strategic event as part of the association’s aims of developing and providing business critical information for members.

“This is our flagship event and has been created to educate and inform our members, from large organisations to SMEs,” he said.

“It helps our members to operate more efficiently today and gives them information that will help them plan for the future. It also provides important time to forge and foster relationships. And above all, it does it in style with entertainment thrown in!”

The ESSA G50+Conference was last at the Ricoh Arena in 2009 and is coming back for 2012.

“We are delighted to be returning to the Ricoh Arena,” Skeith said. “When we were there in 2009 we were very impressed with the venue and the service – the venue team made us very welcome and the event ran perfectly which made the ESSA board’s decision to return an easy one.

“The location of the venue in the heart of the country also makes it convenient for everyone, and the flexibility of the space lends itself to some exciting developments we are planning for the conference this year. We look forward to another engaging and successful G50+Conference at the Ricoh Arena.”

Toyota Material Handling will return as the headline sponsor for the event, with a keynote presentation providing a practical insight into ‘The Toyota Way’ as keynote speakers.

Skeith added: “I expect this presentation to be very entertaining and will be a highlight of the day.”

Laurie Dalrymple, venue director at the Ricoh Arena, said this was a high profile event within the industry.

“This will be a day of hearing from experts within the sector on a whole host of relevant topics,” he said

“Since the numbers attending the ESSA conference continues to increase on an annual basis, the speakers will be based in the Legends Lounge and the break-out area will be in the Jaguar Club which highlights the flexibility of the Ricoh Arena.

“We also wanted to inject something a little different and decided to make use of the casino for the evening meal.”

The Ricoh Arena is a member of ESSA’s sister association the Association of Event Venues (AEV), which supports event venues throughout the UK.
