Festive party nights have rocketed.

The Ricoh Arena is Bringing Christmas Alive to over 1,300 more revellers this year

The Ricoh Arena is Bringing Christmas Alive to over 1,300 more revellers this year as bookings for its festive party nights have rocketed.

In 2011, there were 2,481 bookings over four nights for fun-lovers to enjoy a mix of a three-course meal, entertainment, disco, fun fair and fairground rides in the Jaguar Exhibition Hall.

Over the same number of nights this year, a total of 3,800 party bookings have been taken – an increase of 1,319.

Liz Cooper, marketing director at the Ricoh Arena, said the party nights were enjoyed by a combination of office parties and families and friends getting together for a festive night out.

“Our Bringing Christmas Alive party nights are gaining in popularity year on year which is tremendous news,” she said.

“We have been hosting Christmas party nights at the Ricoh for the last five years and the numbers have been steadily rising but to have increased bookings by over a third this year is testament to the careful planning which goes into all the organising as well as listening to feedback from our customers.

“We wanted to stage a night to remember which is more important than ever in these tough economic times.

“The stunning acrobatics from the roof of the Jaguar Exhibition Hall set the tone for the entertainment before the fire eaters took to the stage.

“Then some people had a ride on the dodgems or tried to win a prize at the fun fair while others danced to music from the band.

“We aim to provide all the ingredients to get everyone in the mood for Christmas and the response has been fantastic.

“As well as having repeat bookings, we had many people come along for the first time which is encouraging and planning will start in January for Bringing Christmas Alive 2013!”

Flo Curzon, of the Adult Education Service, Coventry City Council, thanked Ricoh’s staff for their help in organising their staff Christmas event.

She added: “The Adult Education team attended Bringing Christmas Alive 2012 and a great time was had by all.

“The food was good, the entertainment terrific and the fairground rides were a real hit. It’s safe to say that we will be booking again for next year.”
