G Casino reports positive growth
G CASINO’S move to the Ricoh Arena has proved to be a safe bet after reporting positive growth figures.
The gaming, entertainment and restaurant venue in Coventry ended 2010 with a 27 per cent revenue growth year on year.
This follows hot-on-the-heels of the Rank Group reporting in its 2010 full year results that the revenues of Grosvenor Casinos – which includes the G Casinos – have increased by 8.5 per cent.
The G Casino at the Ricoh Arena officially opened in October 2009 and employs 119 people.
Grosvenor’s commercial director Chris Hopkins said the results were impressive and paid tribute to general manager Paul Davies and his team at G Casino Coventry.
“We are absolutely delighted with the performance of the G Casino in Coventry,” he said.
“Customers’ reactions to the changes since we took over have been very, very positive and the proof is in the pudding with revenue growth of 27 per cent.
“In terms of the year ahead it gives us a great platform to continue to grow and we look forward to building on our already great relationship with everyone at the Ricoh Arena.
“The key has been excellent management. We changed the casino to the G format and it has proved extremely popular and successful not just in terms of gamers but also at bringing in leisure customers.
“The launch of the Mahir’s Restaurant and entertainment shows in Lady Gs have shown that this is a great venue for a good night out whether you are interested in gaming or not.”
Daniel Gidney, chief executive of the Ricoh Arena, said the G Casino was an integral part of the multi-purpose venue.
“They have integrated themselves into the community with the G Casino Kick 4 Cash competition on Coventry City matchdays and their networking events for businesses to encourage a cross-section of the community to come along to the G Casino,” he said.
“To have finished the calendar year of 2010 with such encouraging figures in these tough financial times is a testament to the enterprising work of Paul Davies and his team.”
