Registration opens for biggest poker tournament of the year
REGISTRATION is now open for the biggest poker event of the year – the Goliath Tournament at the Ricoh Arena in August.
The five-day tournament at the G Casino in Coventry is set to break European records when it is staged between August 24-28 with a £100,000 prize pool guaranteed.
The first 200 challengers have already stepped up to the mark to reserve their seats in this summer’s event – for a buy-in of just £100 plus £20 (with 25 per cent of the registration fee going to Marie Curie Cancer Care) the stakes couldn’t be higher for those who fight their way through this field over five slow-structured days of tournament poker.
Daniel Gidney, chief executive of the Ricoh Arena, said this promised to be a talked-about event on the poker circuit for years to come.
He said: “Excitement is already mounting for this record-breaking tournament which will be the largest ever held in Europe.
“The Ricoh Arena is an ideal place to hold an event of this stature since this is the UK’s largest casino and because of our location in the heart of the country as players will be travelling from all over the UK to be involved.
“Beginners as well as experienced players are welcome to take part and I am sure the Grosvenor G Casino will be buzzing throughout the five days.”
There is still plenty of time to register your interest to be in with a chance of winning the top prize of at least £25,000 from the £100,000 pool.
The first 400 players who register for Goliath will be entered into a draw on day two with a chance to win a £1,000 GUKPT Main Event seat!
