Return to the Ricoh
The Renewables Roadshow is returning to the Ricoh Arena for the second time after winning an industry award for last year’s show.
Organisers of the event – which is held at six venues across the country – scooped first prize in the Best Launch Show at the Exhibition News Awards 2012.
And plans are already in full swing to bring the renewables revolution back to the Jaguar Exhibition Hall on Thursday, September 13.
The show is a mix of demonstrations, presentations and exhibitors for the builders, constructers, plumbers and installers as well as staff from local authorities and housing associations.
Dan Caesar, director at Renewables Roadshow, said winning the Exhibition News Award was the icing on the cake for a very successful launch show at the Ricoh Arena.
“It is the first time we have entered an awards – it is usually a case of our company organising them rather than being sat in the audience – and it is brilliant to gain national recognition,” he said.
“We are a small team but we are really creative and pay a great attention to every little detail because that can make a big difference.
“The Ricoh was our second show last year and just like this year it is among six venues where we take the show in three weeks which takes a great deal of planning and organisation.
“It is time-consuming but it means we can attract people to come along to just one show or sell it as a package and it seems to have really taken off.
“The show is a B2B show to attract trade professionals in renewables ranging from energy efficiency and solar panels to rain water harvesting and LED lighting in homes and office buildings.
“We attracted about 5,000 people nationwide to the six high-quality days at six different venues in 2011 and the Ricoh Arena is the showcase event because we hold our awards night there as well.
“Renewables is a hot topic and it is certainly a growing market place. We are already looking forward to returning to the Ricoh to build on our success.”
Chris Owen, event manager at the Ricoh Arena, said the fact 90 per cent of exhibitors have already re-booked for this year emphasises the popularity of the new show.
“All the operational team at the Ricoh Arena is proud of Renewables Roadshow’s achievements in gaining a national award,” he said.
“It was thoroughly deserved for all the hard work and thought which went into making it the best possible launch event.
“We are expecting visitor numbers to virtually double this year since it has been proved there was a gap in the market for this kind of show and we hope this year’s show will lead to even more awards!”
