The Ricoh Arena team are off to Spain
Visit England has invited the award-winning venue to take part in EIBTM which attracts over 14,200 industry professionals between November 29 and December 1 to Fira Gran Via, Barcelona.
Marketing director Liz Cooper, marketing and partnership manager Lisa Fisher, head of sales Will Aylott and business development manager Craig Cotterill will be promoting the Ricoh Arena as a leading UK venue for business, entertainment and sport.
The quartet will also be acting as ambassadors for the Midlands to promote other leisure destinations including Warwick Castle, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Coventry Cathedral.
Liz said this was the first time the Ricoh had attended EIBTM which is renowned as being the top global exhibition for the conference, incentive, events, business travel and meetings industry.
Liz added this was part of the venue’s business plan of further raising its standing on the world stage as an ideal destination because of its versatility and facilities all under one roof.
“We have been invited to EIBTM since we have made such rapid progress in a relatively short space of time,” she said.
“We are very keen to raise the profile of the Ricoh Arena and Coventry and Warwickshire internationally and to target business where events are held over two or three days.
“The Ricoh has the capacity to hold such large-scale events because we have a fantastic combination of exhibition halls, conference suites, the 32,000-seat bowl, the De Vere hotel and the UK’s largest casino.
“Chief executive Daniel Gidney has been invited to give presentations across Europe which has led to follow-up visits here and our international exposure will rapidly rise next year when we are a venue to host 12 Olympic football matches as part of London 2012.
“We want to make sure we are at the forefront of organisers’ minds when they are planning an event in the UK and attending EIBTM will give the team access to key people in the industry.
“There are plenty of networking opportunities and it will be the ideal opportunity to showcase the Ricoh Arena as a complete destination for business, entertainment and sports and build new business relationships.”
The Ricoh Arena team will be located on stand G270 and every delegate who submits their business card will have the chance to win an Elonex 7” eTouch, as well as win flights and accommodation to visit the venue and the region.
