The Ricoh Arena is back

Rebranding of the Ricoh Arena has started following the London 2012 Olympic Football Tournament

The Ricoh Arena is officially the Ricoh Arena once again!

The multi-purpose business, entertainment and sport venue has temporarily been re-named the City of Coventry Stadium during the Olympic Games.

But following Diana Matheson’s 92nd-minute winner for Canada in their 1-0 victory over France in the Women’s Bronze Medal final yesterday, the Olympic signs are being taken down and the Ricoh Arena has its familiar name once again.

Daniel Gidney, chief executive of the Ricoh Arena, said around 200,000 people had watched Olympic football at the venue from 16 different countries from all over the world.

“The Olympic Games has been an outstanding success and it finished on a high with such a dramatic late winner for Canada,” he said.

“The operation has now begun to transform the City of Coventry Stadium back into the Ricoh Arena.

“It’s amazing to think we have just hosted one of the biggest events in the world and it’s now time to re-focus on the business in hand which is to continue to bring world-class events to the Ricoh Arena.

“We would also like to say a huge thank-you to all of our sponsors for their support during the Olympic period. The clean stadium was a critical factor and we can’t thank them enough.”
