COVENTRY TO BE BEAMED ACROSS THE WORLD
Coventry’s Ricoh Arena will be broadcast on TV screens around the globe later this week as music fans get the opportunity to exclusively relive the star-studded MTV Crashes concert in the city.
From 9pm until 11pm this Friday (17 June), TV channel MTV Music will be showing all of the biggest acts from day one of MTV Crashes Coventry, a two-day music festival held at the Ricoh Arena on Friday, 27 May and Saturday, 28 May.
The highlights – which will be available in 162 countries - feature half an hour segments from each artist.
First up is pop star Fleur East who performed hits from her new album Love, Sax and Flashbacks, followed by Tom Odell who tried out some new material from his new album Wrong Crowd.
Then it’s the turn of the Kaiser Chiefs whose lead singer Ricky Wilson got the crowd in full voice with a multitude of hits, ready for Chase & Status who were performing their first show of the summer.
Andy Gibb, managing director of the Ricoh Arena, said: “MTV Crashes really raised the Ricoh Arena’s roof and helped to kicked off our summer of music with a real bang, so it’s fantastic that the world is able join us in reliving the amazing atmosphere.
“To have the Ricoh Arena broadcast all around the globe is also great news for the city of Coventry, and is testament to all of the hard work that has gone on behind the scenes to make this venue and Coventry a top-class destination for music.
“It’s been an incredibly busy year of music for us, first with Jess Glynne in April followed by four huge days of music all within the space of a month. This includes MTV Crashes in late May, then we had 38,000 fans to Bruce Springsteen earlier this month before we welcome Rihanna to town on Saturday, 25 June.
“A number of tickets are still available for Rihanna and we would advise fans to purchase directly from the Ricoh Arena website to ensure they are paying face value.”
Viewers can catch the highlights on MTV Music by tuning in via channel 350 in Sky and 310 on Virgin.
