COVID-19 - FAQS 

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic we are supporting the efforts of government and the NHS by operating with a reduced staff, most of whom are working from home.

Thank you for your understanding in what are truly unusual circumstances and we hope to return to normal as soon as it is deemed safe.  In the meantime, please take care.

Is the venue still open for private functions?

All private events are being reviewed on a case by case basis in conjunction with advice from the UK Government.  Advice is changing daily.

What are we doing as a venue to prevent an outbreak?

As a business we are continually monitoring the situation of Covid-19, and the impact this has on our employees, staff and visitors.

We have introduced additional proactive measures across the venue, including additional cleaning and the installation of hand sanitisers as well as antibacterial hand wash.  Information posters reinforcing the medical official advice are throughout the building.

Many of our team are now home working with a skeleton team office based to reduce risk and ensure the building is manned. We continue to remind staff of good hygiene practices.  

I’m concerned about attending a conference, exhibition or event at the venue.  What do I do?

We do appreciate that the outbreak of Coronavirus is a concern to many, but we are urging event organisers and attendees to remain calm.

The government guidelines remain unchanged and Ricoh Arena will be operating as normal across the business.

We’re still hosting our event but have had lots of delegates pull out.  Is there anything we can do to help?

We are committed to making your event a success and our AV team will assist in any way they can to ensure your delegates can stay connected and engaged.  Our unique 5G technology enables us to offer connectivity across the UK and internationally.  Please speak to your Event Coordinator for further information.  We will try to help in any way we can.

What is your advice to event organisers and delegates?

Our main piece of advice is to remain calm.  Follow the advice provided to you by Public Health England and the World Health Organisation.  We are continually monitoring and assessing the situation and will keep visitors, staff and employees updated should this change. We want to reassure visitors that the Ricoh Arena is taking all possible steps to minimise the risk of contagion, including the implementation of enhanced cleaning regimes.

What advice can I provide delegates attending an event?

We would advise you to keep your delegates informed and provide them with relevant information and updates from Public Health England and the World Health Organisation. Provide alternative travel advice for those who are concerned about using public transport and ensure that you have information posters reinforcing the official medical advice for your delegates throughout the event. Please reassure your delegates about the precautionary measures that the venue is taking to prevent spreading the infection.

We are working closely with events that are still taking place to ensure we comply fully with the Government's advice over social distancing.  

As an all-encompassing venue, if you are visiting for a conference or event, you do not have to step outside the venue.  The Doubletree by Hilton Hotel is based onsite and we offer 2000 car parking spaces.

Rest assured we will continue to act quickly should we be required to do so and will take all necessary precautions to protect the welfare of our guests and staff.
