There are just 1,000 tickets left for Wasps’ end of season battle against local rivals Leicester Tigers on Saturday 9th May. With over 31,000 tickets already sold for ‘The Stinger’, Wasps are expecting a sell-out crowd for this titanic match, as both clubs continue their fight to secure a top six finish for European Champions Cup qualification.

The Aviva Premiership home ground attendance record stands at 28,254, set at Wasps’ inaugural game at the Ricoh Arena in December last year against London Irish. This would be the first time the stadium has sold out for a sporting event since Coventry City played Chelsea in the FA Cup quarter-finals in 2009. The capacity of the Ricoh Arena is 32,600.

There are also just 200 hospitality places left for the game in the Ricoh Arena’s Phoenix Suite. Over 2,000 hospitality covers have already been snapped up for this game, with all Executive Boxes selling out months in advance. The remaining hospitality places start at £80 +VAT and include a match day ticket and programme, a two-course meal in the Phoenix Suite and a complimentary half-time drink.

As part of the day, Wasps plan to distribute 15,000 Ashley Johnson wigs for fans to masquerade as the Ricoh Arena favourite. The wigs form part of a charity campaign to raise money for Wasps Academy’s charity partner, the Brain Tumour Charity. Supporters will be able to take a wig and make a donation to this worthy cause.

Nick Eastwood, Wasps Deputy Chairman, commented:

“With European qualification on the line, not to mention local bragging rights, it’s going to be a humdinger of a game. There are just 1,000 tickets left, so I’d urge Wasps supporters to book now and be part of this historic game. It really is going to be a very special day for everyone involved. Let’s turn the Ricoh black and gold on 9th May.”
